Plant Medicine
Plant teachers are pure beings of nature who teach us ways of life in subtle and profound ways. Through their silence and endurance, they remind us of the importance of patience and persistence. As we step into relationship with Plants we remember and relearn the art of listening, which was once mastered by our ancestors who lived side by side with our vegetal kin. Their growth cycles reflect the lessons of letting go and new beginnings, while their diversity and adaptability remind us of the importance of being flexible. Plant teachers teach us humility as we recognize that we depend on them for survival and evolution. By respecting and honoring their teachings, we can create a deeper connection to nature and ourselves, which becomes more and more urgent in these times of overwhelming sound and deep change.
Over the last several years I have immersed myself deeply in the world of medicinal plants and have developed relationships with exotic plants such as cacao, huachuma and ayahuasca as well as native magic mushrooms and amanita muscaria. I have dieted with several jungle plants and fungi and keep on learning from these wonderful healing creatures every day.
30 Day - Cacao Dieta
What is a dieta?
A dieta serves to work deeper with one's own being. We open a sacred space for transformation and growth. Traumas and old wounds can be healed and love for your life can be strengthened. A deeper understanding of us as humans is opened up. We learn directly from our plant master cacao as we sensitize to listen to the voice of the spirit of the grandmother tree. Together we travel during 30 days of connection, a process supported by weekly zoom call ceremonies and meditation. At the same time, we prepare and take in the cacao plant to connect deeply with this plant spirit of love and reconnection.
Indigenous peoples all over the earth as well as our european ancesters, the celtic druids receive(d) their knowledge directly from plants. Many have developed relational practices that allow to relate more deeply to the energy of the plant. Some indigenous tribes, e.g. in the Amazon such as the Shipibo Konibo in Peru or the Huni Kuin in Brazil, still practice dieting, in which the teacher plant is consumed over a certain period of time with certain regulations.
Dieta with Mama Cacao
The Cacao Plant is a medicine that awakens your embodied senses and connects you deeply to your heart learning you the art of seeing through eyes of unconditional love. This beautiful plant guides us in our healing journey to deeply connect to your true essence. Cacao works gentle and sometimes strong on your body, mind and heart, rebalancing your energies to restore the body to its natural state. As we open up our heart chakra we can find support during times of stress, depression, or overwhelm.
The wisdom of this dieta has been passed down to me by a Brazilian friend who has been rediscovering her indigeneous roots. This dieta is practiced during 30 days, a time long enough to allow us to dive deep into our relationship with the Cacao tree and her spirit. Through connecting to her every day, we open up to her and find a mirror of our heart’s condition. Every day we prepare, drink and connect to her spirit and give space to the relationship in individual ways. Like that, we cocreate space to turn inward and devote to healing our selflove. In order to honor this sacred relationship with this plant teacher, we abstain from many external inputs and interpersonal closeness such as sex and eat a vegan diet.

Amanita Muscaria
There is a lot of misinformation about Amanita Muscaria, also known as fly agaric. Its cap contains the psychoactive substances ibotenic acid, muscarine and musicomol. The latter causes an expansion of consciousness, usually referred to as psychotropic.
In our culture the fly agaric is largely considered poisonous. This is due to the intolerance of ibotenic acid in the fresh mushroom, which largely decarboxylates to muscimol when dried. Traditionally it is used for intoxicating purposes. It is said to have been used for religious rituals in ancient times (Muraresku). Indigenous tribes around the world have always used this medicine. The Germanic tribes called it “Wotan’s meat,” and the Mayan priests are also said to have used the fly agaric in their rituals. Siberian shamans have been collecting fly agarics for shamanic journeying for thousands of years.
In small doses (microdosing) the fly agaric has a driving, opening and disinhibiting effect. It so helps us open up to our emotions, our dreams and visions, dismantling the inhibitions of the social filters we have inherited throughout our lives. In higher doses this wise creature guides us through a process of unlearning our habitual thought patterns and leading us into a life with more purpose and profound love.
Occasionally I hold Cacao ceremonies with Amanita Muscaria microdosing. Cacao and Amanita dance together beautifully, enhancing so the depth of the experience in the heart space. Upon request, I also offer 1:1 journeys with higher doses.
Huachuma
Huachuma (San Pedro) is a very serotonergic, heart-opening, heart consciousness medicine. Huachuma is timeless, universal, and accessible to those who bring the right intention and a good, open heart to it.
Huachuma is a fast-growing cactus that is native to the Andes of Peru and Ecuador. In its natural environment, Huachuma grows up to 20 feet high and is multi-branched. Huachuma contains a number of psychoactive alkaloids, including Mescaline. Also known as the grandfather this plant teacher has been worked with in healing and spiritual practices throughout South America for thousands of years, as it is a medicine that facilitates connection with the Ancestors and the Earth (Pachamama) through opening our heart space.
Boiled down to one word, Huachuma is about clarity. Huachuma is a clarifier. It’s hard to see and hard to drive if you have a dirty windshield. Huachuma thoroughly cleans the windshield. It's the mirror of unvarnished truth, although that defies explanation and perhaps you'll have to experience that for yourself. Balance, harmony, and reconciliation are other words that authentically express Huachuma, who helps you attain and remain in balance with the natural world. In this heightened state, people realize that they're a part of nature, and nature is a part of them.
For many people, they are never quite the same after taking Huachuma. Why is that? Because you understand the true magnitude of what’s going on around you. In the aftermath, one feels an acute awareness of the concept of Ayni (reciprocity) and a sense of connectedness to Mother Nature and the Cosmos.
Upon request, I offer 1:1 or small group journeys with this plant teacher. These trips take the form of one or two day hikes in the Swiss mountains. After receiving several years of training with this medicine and the Q'eros in the sacred Peruvian mountains (Apus), I feel the call to connect more deeply with my homeland and with the Swiss Alps. On these mountain trips we want to remember what the values of our lands are and who we are in it as humans. We hike to the mountains to open direct communication and share our songs and prayers. It is a journey of discovery of our roots, which can be reawakened with the help of this wonderful connecting medicine from the Andes.
